From Sahlala Dancers to Main Stage Choreographer

After stepping back from Bellydance Superstars, Jillina created Bellydance Evolution in 2009 — a full-length theatrical show that treats belly dance the way a narrative ballet treats classical dance, weaving traditional and contemporary Middle Eastern dance and music into a story-driven production rather than a set of standalone numbers. The show has toured more than 20 countries and was commissioned to produce "Le Voyage de Scheherazade," a collaboration between Moroccan, European, and American dancers performed with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc.
